My father along with other local men petitioned for the course at Dundas parks to be reopened after the Second World War after my Grandfather became the Greenkeeper at Dundas Parks GC and riding on the tractor with him got me hooked.
* I turned pro in 1984
* Worked at Helensburgh Golf Club
* Worked at Dalmahoy Golf Club
* Worked as a teaching professional at Beckenham Place Park GC (At that point the busiest course in Britain)
* Set up the Petron Boss fitting centre in Glasgow (probably the first facility to use computer numbers to fit clubs)
* Moved to Gifhorner Golf Klub EV in Germany and set up the Academy there with another Teaching pro
* Came to MEGC in 1994
Throughout my years I have spoken to many different people to further my knowledge and understanding of the swing. Christine, Harmon, Cowen, Plummer, Bennett, Bender, Shcy and Ridyard are the more well known coaches I have visited at various coaching seminars.
I have a well stocked shop with names such as Taylor Made, Wilson Staff, Glenmuir as well as lots of MEGC crested merchandise. You can purchase souvenirs from markers, thermal mugs, sweaters to wallets and everything in between. We have moved almost completely to custom fitting as it is really important to fit the clubs to the person rather than the other way round. Gone are the days of simply picking clubs up that you think are correct and then 'figuring out' how to use them.
